No longer helpless

I was lost, but literacy found me. Looking back now, as I hold this pen over my book, I feel things could have been different and better had I learned to do the same many years ago. Life was so terrifying before, writing out checks, filing bills, checking out the entries in the bank pass book, tallying accounts, paying up bills etc. It was a life of dependency

(I used to depend on my friends) as I was a school drop out due to my poor health and lack of interest. I was helpless.

But all this changed when I came in contact with my mentor who motivated me even at my age. He guided me and extended support that I joined under graduate course and then the University. Now I am a totally a different personality, more confident and I hold my head high, in dignity and self-respect. –Dennis King
