what a great article…think I’ll get the book. I’m 51 and single again after my ex-husband
starting using the drug meth (I was clueless), relapsed on alcohol, became violent, walked out the front door with a big suitcase and rode away on a riding lawn mower.True story unfortunately.
I never saw him again. Where & how in the world am I supposed to begin dating again at 51? I have major trust & abandonment issues now.

I just turned 59, and I’ve had two marriages in my lifetime. Sherry is right, you’ll got to heal your heart first. I also found ‘me’ after 22 years of an abusive marriage with three kids. I’ve been divorced for 15 years now, and I love life again. I haven’t dated since the summer of ’69, so I would have a hard time dating these old men. My children are all married and I’m a grandmother of six, so I don’t know if I can give up my x-husbands retirement check I’ll be getting in a few years. If I remarry I will lose it. I don’t want to put my trust in a man…would you?

After years of dating and being single, I finally connected with a wonderful man from my past. Good looking, kind to me and his children — I am glad we connected at this point in our lives. There are success stories after 50.
