From the Editor:
At “Let Life In,” we have no problem being controversial — in fact we rather enjoy it. Because we respect our readers’ and subscribers’ intelligence, we feel you are mature enough to read provocative subject matter. However, we are also realistic enough to recognize that life being what it is, sometimes we might offend with our frankness.
Stimulating and Involving
Know that “Let Life In” articles are never meant to be “dirty” or offensive. They’re meant to stimulate your mind and to involve you in what’s going on in the world — the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly.
The trouble with spam filters
The problem arises when some “Let Life In” articles are interpreted by some computers as spam. Spam filters are designed to protect you from unwanted messages coming into your email “in” box. They are programmed to block out emails that they think have “offensive” words or material. That can rule out articles about sex, making money, working at home and you’d be surprised how many others that are assumed by your filter to be “unwanted” and “annoying” topics.
Check your spam folder from time to time
It’s a sticky situation. We hate those annoying emails with messages we don’t want to read as much as you do. At the same time, we want to be true to ourselves and honest and direct with you. We are not asking you to turn off your spam filters; in fact it would be unwise to do that.
What we are asking is for you to check your spam folder from time to time to see what good stuff it’s “protecting” you from. While you’re there checking out the spam folder, simply click “Not Spam” for any “Let Life In” articles that you find. That will get the “Let Life In” articles out of your spam folder and into your mail folder.
If you find that “Let Life In” articles (or any other articles you wish to receive) are consistently being mislabeled as spam, you can prevent this by: Adding their email addresses to your Contacts list. Most mail delivery systems (AOL, Yahoo, Verizon, Gmail, etc.) will always deliver messages from members of your contact list unless they are confident the material is spam. In our case, simple add LetLifeIn.com to your Contacts list.
Once you do that, you should find “Let Life In” articles appearing regularly in your inbox. We are also suggesting you come back to “Let Life In” often to see if you might have missed something. We want you to continue to be interested in the material we are presenting. If you’d like, you can also find us on Facebook at “Let Life In” and read us there. (While you’re on our Facebook page, don’t forget to “like” us.)
We’re asking you to let all of “Let Life In” in. And please, let us hear your comments and questions.
